Dynetics and Aerojet Rocketdyne have teamed with NASA to perform a series of tests on a 3D-printed gas generator engine part of the Space Launch System (SLS). Engineers have the opportunity to compare data from previous tests using traditional manufactured components to determine the viability of 3D-printing technology for future engine design. The test conducted at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center used over 100 channels of Pacific's COTS Series 6000 system with PI660 software and proved highly successful.
